Beach House Reinvented

This four-bedroom, three-bathroom house was designed as a breezily serene backdrop for the homeowner to layer and embellish at whim. As a fashion insider and tastemaker, owner Kelly Furano’s young family will go through many design iterations, perhaps as often as the changes in the tide and moon. This house by the beach was designed for exactly that — to provide an inspiring canvas against which the family can create, change and evolve. Inspired by Belgian design, the 3,100 square foot home includes floor-to-ceiling custom steel-framed windows and hand-troweled stucco walls as well as details such as cement tiles, brass fixtures and live-edge kitchen surfaces. A standalone structure in the backyard is an architectural riff off Venice’s iconic lifeguard stations, with its stilt-like design. According to Furano, “The backyard feels like a clubhouse perfectly suited for entertaining our community of friends and their children.”
